Elder Training

  • 110 Flora Street Bellingham, WA, 98225 United States (map)

The WHAT (what is Spring Church)

Spring Church is rooted in the person of Jesus Christ, the revelation of Scripture, and the Reformed theological tradition.

The HOW (how are we led?)

One of the key features is that we’re a church that is led not by a pastor, bishop, pope, or vote.

We’re led by elders of our church, who are elected by our members.

Our Elders are the ones who provide leadership and guidance for Spring Church.

The WHY (why does this training matter?)

As we take the next steps in becoming a “chartered” church of the Northwest Coast Presbytery, this training exists to equip and train the Spring Church community on how to discern, lead, and disciple one another on the road ahead. Spring Church isn’t led by the pastoral staff, it’s led by Uncommon Friends, walking together in the direction Jesus is walking in. Elder training is open to all, even if you have no desire to be an elder but would simply like to learn more about the history of the church, the foundations of Christian faith, and what it means to live as a “called out people.”
