Making sense of the unexpected guest

When: Thursday, July 6
Time: 7-8pm

Where: First Baptist (in the courtyard outside, weather permitting)

What: We’ve been reading the story in Luke 7:36-50 about the dinner party at Simon’s house with Jesus and the woman who comes unexpectedly and worships Jesus.

This story is told VERY differently in every single gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). How come? How ought we interpret the differences? Why does it matter? What questions does this bring up for you? Join us for an evening dialogue with Matt, who will address these topics and help us think about how to thoughtfully and faithfully interpret scripture together.

If you’d like to attend but don't live locally, we can provide a Zoom option by request only. Please reach out to Jessie if you’d like to participate in this conversation and don’t live in Bellingham!

First Baptist Fellowship Hall address:

110 Flora Street, Bellingham
