Would anyone come to a 6:15am Bible Study?

“Would anyone come to a 6:15 am Bible study?” was the question we asked ourselves in September.  7 months later….

“The variety of perspectives brought to the table, combined with the detail we got to learn about history, Biblical culture, and our biases made the early mornings totally worth it! Seriously, I don’t think there was a single 5am wake up where I walked away from the Bible study wishing I had slept in, even on the days when I walked in feeling that way.”

A reflection from Jill, a college student who was a part of the bible study on Revelation with Spring Church.

Common discipleship means we all learn, study and grow together.

Uncommon friendship means the group was a bit more diverse than the norm and included a middle-aged pastor, three college ladies and one young married couple.

The book of Revelation offers it’s readers a beautiful challenge: How do we live as ambassadors to the Kingdom of God in the midst of powerful cultural forces that pull our hearts in other directions? Revelation uses incredible imagery, poetry and story to revive our imaginations, so that we can remember who we are and whose we are. For seven months this bible study has been praying that the Spirit would provide this revelation for us in our time, and a global pandemic has a very poignant way of revealing the fragility of our idols.
